Nowadays people are the most important asset of a company. Some of the insurance covers, such as the occupational accident insurance, are mandatory by law in some professional areas. Others may be viewed as a fringe benefit to employees. We can also include in this section one more type of insurance, i.e. the voluntary health insurance.
Occupational Accident Insurance
The insurance is mandatory by law under the Ordinance on Compulsory Insurance of Employees for the Risk of an Occupational Accident. Certain companies are obliged to purchase the coverage but it can also be taken out by companies, which are not legally required to do so. The health and life of workers and employees are insured against accidents occurring through the official duties of the employees.
Personal Accident Insurance
Personal accident insurance is a voluntary protection of the insured against events affecting the insured’s life, health and bodily integrity as a result of an accident. In addition to temporary and permanent disability and death of the insured, the policy may cover specific risks such as repatriation costs in the event of an accident, dental costs, hospital stay costs, etc.
Voluntary Health Insurance
Voluntary health insurance covers cases of illness and accident that have resulted in health impairment and necessitated medical assistance to the insured. Up to the limits specified in the policy and depending on the selected coverage, the insurance pays medical expenses for examinations and tests, hospital and non-hospital treatment, hospitalization, medicines and medical consumables used during the treatment, costs for surgeries and surgical treatment, dental care, rehabilitation costs and so on.
An advantage of the voluntary health insurance is the 24/7 Assistance Center providing professional advice and assistance, which almost all insurance companies have. Besides, some companies offer unlimited coverage, which allows the insured person to use without payment the services of hospitals and medical institutions having signed contracts with the insurance company.
